The Week Thus Far...

We had snow on Saturday. That’s the first time the kids ever got to see snow. It was awesome! We threw snowballs at each other for almost 2 days. By Sunday they were ice balls and kind of painful. I got to have my first snowboard session of the season. These kids that live in our complex brought out their old decks and we cruised the slopes of our complex. I kept finding the spots where the snow was thinnest as you could see if Courtney ever posts the videos against my wishes! The picture to the right is at our apartment complex. The picture to the left is the new house.

It looks like we may have solution at the new house. With any luck we may be closing next week. Keep praying about that!

We had a visit from an old friend from FL. Ben Boles stayed with us Monday night. He was meeting with some of the folks at New Thing in Knoxville, a very interesting church planting organization. The downside to him here was that we stayed up entirely too late talking story for him to have to get up stupid early in the morning to get to his meeting. When he was finished he met me at the new house for the nickel tour. He arrived just in time as Mr. Foster, the current owner’s father, and I had just finished unloading 2,400 lbs of concrete for the new wall in the basement. It was nice to reconnect with him after all this time.

I’m trying to slam out some mandatory pleasure reading before the 15th. I’m on chapter 4 in Mark Batterson’s book Primal. I am really enjoying it thus far! I don’t get to read much for pleasure! Stay tuned for my thoughts on his book in a couple of weeks!
